What's the difference?
The HACjobs email bulletin comes in three different versions. Which should you choose?

'HTML linked'

'HTML linked' is what we now recommend for most people. It works on almost all email systems, and it only uses up a little bit of space in your in box each week (around 20-25K). It is also the fastest of the three versions to download, and the least likely version to be accidentally blocked by your spam filter. The 'HTML linked' email version of HACjobs gives only a one-line description of each job (like an index). If you want to see more, clicking on a job title in the email will take you to the full advertisement on our website.

'HTML inline'

'HTML inline' works on most email systems (but not on Eudora, Lotus Notes or Entourage). It consists of a single, large email (around 150-250K), with an index at the start. If you click on an item in the index, it will jump you further down the email to the advert you are interested in. The 'HTML inline' version of HACjobs is the one people who subscribed before April 2007 will be famililar with. If you like it, that's fine - there is no need to change. But it is a long email with lots of text, and it has internal links, so it sometimes gets blocked by spam filters. It also uses up more space in your in box than the new, 'HTML linked' version (see above).

'Plain text'

The 'Plain text' version of HACjobs works on any email system, even very old ones. But it is quite hard to read - there is an index at the start, then you have to scroll manually down through a long email to read the full text of each job advert. There are no colours or text styling. Because everything is contained in a single email, the 'Plain text' version uses up a fair bit of space in your inbox (around 100K). 'Plain text' is how HACjobs used to look, when we first started. We will continue to offer it and to support it as long as there is a demand for it.
